[Money Order Business] NOV 19 A.M. postmark (Mills County 1879-) on unreduced cover, corner and edge wear, to Washington, D.C., 1883 receiver on reverse. If a money order was enclosed in a letter, the postmaster was supposed to use a dater that included the letters "MOB". Scarce. $30

[Money Order Business] JUL 20 1886 postmark (Ness County 1881-) and duplexed star killer on VF intact cover, UR small corner tear, to Oskaloosa, Iowa. If a money order was enclosed in a letter, the postmaster was supposed to use a dater that included the letters "MOB". Scarce. $40

j0044 #215, #216, fine sound copies on VF intact #U311 entire, canceled by purple target killers with XF balloon HACKBURY, TEXAS JAN 6 1890 postmark (DPO Lavaca County, 1862-1906, R3 scarcity), a 1¢ convenience overpay of double rate cover to Graz, Austria (back stamp receiver). Cover has a central vertical bend. The #216 has weak blind double perfs at top partially removed (not a fault). Colorful and attractive cover. $125
j0025 #264, fine pair, right stamp small faults, tied by THOMASTON, ME JAN 29 1897 postmark with XF strike of pumpkin mask fancy killer (Whitfield 333) on intact cover to Northampton, MA (JAN 30 receiver and right side tears on reverse). A very nice example of this Maine fancy cancel. $50
j0070 #231, average, sound 2c Columbian, canceled by a superb strike of dark purple ringed negative 5-point star in circle killer with matching PIERPONT, OHIO MAR 12 1894 postmark on VF intact orange printed POWELL BROS., SHADELAND, CRAWFORD CO., PA. response envelope, company's light purple receiving hand stamp at left. The Powell Brothers operated an immense stock farm of national renown in Crawford County, Pennsylvania. Great star fancy cancel. On cover fancy cancels of all types are scarce on the Columbian issues. SOLD
