9875 (Milgram 130, illustrated p. 125)  STR. BONANZA, Leaves This Day 12½ O'Clock (Ohio River), XF strike of purple three line straight line hand stamp on intact 1884-86 #U280 2¢ brown on blue entire to Cincinnati, O., Very Fine, the only recorded example. SOLD
9878 (Milgram 322)  N.O. & Red River Packet CUBA (Mississippi and Red Rivers), well struck red four line straight line hand stamp on intact 1864-64 #U58 3¢ entire to New Orleans, flap tear and usual pinholes as found on the Carroll Hoy correspondence.  Also included is 1861 printed & illustrated freight bill.  Very Fine and attractive. 9701 (Milgram 362)  #U10, XF, intact, with XF strike of blue REGULAR OUACHITA PASSENGER PACKET STEAMER DR. BUFFINGTON vessel name oval hand stamp (Milgram 362), scarcer than examples struck in black, sent to J. T. Hardie & Co., New Orleans LA. Similar sold in Rumsey sale of Milgram steamboat mail for $500.  Ex-Knapp.  A beautiful steamboat cover for the finest collection. SOLD

9827 (Milgram 626)  Ouachita River Packet IDAHOE (Ouachita River), complete blue oval hand stamp (much better than the Milgram illustration) on intact 1864-65 #U59 3¢ entire on buff to New Orleans, manuscript "Order" and "Idaho" notations.  Also included is 1868 freight bill printed in green.  Very Fine. $175

9884 (Milgram 732)  From Steamer JUDAH TOURO (Red and Ouachita Rivers), complete red oval hand stamp on fresh, intact 1853-55 #U10 3¢ Nesbitt entire on buff to New Orleans, usual pinholes as found on the Carroll Hoy correspondence.  Also included is printed freight bill.  Very Fine and choice. $225

9885 (Milgram 833, illustrated p. 445)  N.O. Natchez & Vicksburg STEAMER MAGENTA (Mississippi River), bold and complete double circle hand stamp without date on intact 1864-65 #U58 3¢ entire to New Orleans, postmarked "New Orleans Jan 11" duplex, usual pinholes as found on the Carroll Hoy correspondence.  Very Fine and scarce, ex-Knapp.

The "Magenta" of 848 tons was built at New Albany, Indiana in 1864 and sold off the slips to Capt. David White and others for the New Orleans - Vicksburg trade. Sold again in November 1865 to Thomas P. Leathers with White retaining 3/8 share. In January 1866 Leathers and John Cannon owned equal shares.
