9946 Stampless, VF intacttiny embossed lady's envelope bearing an XF strike of balloon WHEELING IL APR 17 postmark (Cook County 1837-) to Forksville IL (DPO Lake County 1848-68). Very attractive. $50
9863 FLS, printed, cut down attestation to regular publication of notice of bankruptcy proceedings (newspaper publication attached) posted ALBANY NY MAR 15 [1826] to Onadaga, C. Valley N.Y. Apparently missent, the FLS bears a light strike of red 2 line "C. VALLEY / N Y" postmark and manuscript "17 March" date with manuscript "Missent & fowd".  Interesting and unusual. $25
9811 Small, stampless, embossed lady's envelope, VF and intact, with red ANNISQUAM, MASS. JAN 14 [1854] postmark and boxed PAID, manuscript "Paid 3", to New London, NH. Original, tightly packed letter. Pretty. $30
9812 Stampless envelope, intact with edge wear, flap tears, bearing a VF red ANNISQUAM, MASS. DEC 3 postmark and boxed PAID, manuscript "Paid 6 cts", "6", sent to San Francisco, CA. Letter accompanies, probably unrelated. $20
9836 SFL, VF, datelined Brookfield [MA] Oct 14, 1850, with fine red orange HOUSATONIC R.R. OCT 14 postmark (Remele H4-g, Towle 88-B-6) sent to New Haven,Conn., 5 cent rate hand stamp. $50
9706 FLS, VF with VF BRIDGEPORT Ct. FEB 21 [1852] postmark and F-VF strike of positive "PAID" within a negative rectangle incised out of the body of a large fancy numeral 3 rate handstamp. (See Milgram, "Paid in 3 Rating Postmarks on Stampless Covers", USPCS Chronicle 272, p. 326.)  The letter sheet contains an amazing letter (p. 1p. 2transcription) from a physician to his Easton CT colleague requesting assistance defending his reputation from claims circulating that the physician's overcharging for services to a man's son was responsible for the suicide of that man.
