9244 #220, perf faults at top, target killer and WESTON VT JUL 15 1892 postmark on small cover (original letter) to Springfield VT. Purple "ADVERTISED." (7/22 pen dated), fee paid by VF #219 rather than postage due stamp, tied by SPRINGFIELD JUL 27 1892 postmark. Very unusual use of a postage stamp to pay the 1¢ postage due fee for advertisement. SOLD
9215 #319, average, CHICAGO, ILL. FEB 17 1907 machine cancel ties to intact Beer Pump and Supplies illustrated advertising covermagenta 2 line DUE 2 CENTS (not listed Piszkiewicz), 2¢ #J39 postage due with blue crayon crossed precancel (probably Silent Precancels Chicago V). $25
j0030 #210, target killer and LEESBURG, FLORIDA MAR 17 1885 postmark (Lake County, 1871-) on intact cover to Chicago, IL, manuscript "Due 2¢" at left. Cover bears a VF sound 2¢ #J16 postage due bearing a scarce Chicago precancel consisting of 2 horizontal bars (Smith, "Silent Precancels" type CHICAGO G). $50
8582 #J16 on Great Britain ½p postal card, London DE 18 1889 postmark, to West Troy, NY, forwarded to Troy. Card bears hexagonal T 5 (centime) British due mark and NY U.S. CHARGE TO COLLECT .2 Cents, penalty doubling 1¢. SOLD
8645 #219, fine, sound, on unsealed locally mailed circular, indistinct NY cancel, forwarded to Chicago,with VF strike of purple "Forwarded Due 1c".  The Chicago post office applied a precanceled #J15, probably wavy line, horizontally applied, paying the 1¢ penalty for forwarding of a circular. $50
9224 Intact cover from England, OC 19 82 GLASGOW postmark, to Haverhill, MA. Black circled UNCLAIMED, redirected to Boston, red boxed UNCLAIMED and purple boxed "Undelivered for reason stated / To be returned to Sender at the address shown on cover"JAN 8 83 DEAD LETTER OFFICE triangle and various receiving and transit postmarks on reverse. SOLD
8674 #205, fine, NEW YORK JUL 21 85 postmark, to London, England c/o Brown Shipley & Co. forwarder.  The letter was apparently undeliverableLetter returned to D.C. Dead Letter Office (SEP 7 85 DLO triangle on reverse and D.C. receiving postmark on front) with purple DLO RETURN TO THE WRITER small pointing hand on front.  Multiple NY and London transit markings on reverse, as well as a later, collector-applied, adhesive tape to seal flap. SOLD
8401 #281x2, fine, Chicago NOV 25 1902 postmark, double weight cover to ArgentinaBoxed NON-RÉCLAMÉ (unclaimed), large "U", and small red "RETURNED TO WRITER" pointing hand on front. MENDOZA 30 DEC 1902 receivers and manuscript "Desconocido [unknown] ???" indicating that recipient could not be located.  The cover apparently took a very long time (nearly a year) to get returned.  There is a red double ring "DEAD LETTER OFFICE USA NOV 3 1903" hand stamp and a CHICAGO STA. U. NOV 5 1905 machine postmark receiver on back.  Small cover reduction at left. SOLD
