Used Blocks

Item # Description Price Picture
9549 #O22, F+ 24¢ Interior 3x2 block of 6, natural SE at right, canceled by six quartered cork killers with indecipherable "JUN" postmark.  The block has one short perf at lower left, but is otherwise sound, a remarkable matter for large, high value blocks.  2023 P.S.A.G. certificate, which mentions the short perf. High $2500 Scott catalog for used block of 4, a rare used official multiple. SOLD
9410 #148, fine intact block of 4 bearing four VF-XF strikes or rare NYFM negative "N.Y.P.O." killer (Weiss RE-L4).  The discovery of the block was recently reported in the May 2024 edition of the USCC NEWS, "A Spectacular New York Foreign Mail Multiple".  This is the largest reported multiple for this rare killer. The block has weak, but not reinforced, horizontal perfs, a tiny pin hole in the upper left stamp, a tiny tear at right in the bottom right stamp, and the two upper stamps have a light diagonal crease.  These faults are truly minor with respect to the rarity, power and attractiveness of this block. SOLD
8736 #279B, fine block of 4, wrinkles, canceled by two strikes, one socked, of "YPSILANTI MICH." oval, third class mail postmark. $20

$15

8385 #J20, F-VF used left SE block of 4, canceled by 2 strikes of NEW YORK P.O. double oval killer. Upper left stamp with small corner fault, bottom right stamp with small tear, still an attractive item. Scarce multiple, Scott 2022 catalog $450. $175

$160

7609 #182, fine intact block of 6, canceled by three strikes of NEW YORK, N.Y., MAY 26, 1880 postmark and numeral 6 ellipse killer. Block has minor hinge reinforcement at top and side edges, middle two stamps with shallow thins.  Scarce. SOLD
7086 #159 block of 4, fine and intact with small corner crease at upper left, canceled by three fine strikes of NYFM geometric killer (Weiss GE-C7).Used blocks with fancy NYFM killers are extremely scarce. A great piece!  Ex-Kirke. SOLD
