#148, VF-XF, sound, canceled by an XF-superb strike of

#148, fine, sound, canceled by a VF-XF SOTN strike of NYFM

#159, F-VF, sound, canceled by a superb SOTN
strike of rare NYFM geometric killer (Weiss GE-C9a),
especially rare struck in red and and with all features so clear.
A WOW NYFM fancy cancel. Weiss also illustrated 3¢ Banknote issue
stamp struck in red. In May 2016 I wrote an
article for
the USCC regarding the first ever reported on-cover example of this
killer, found on a locally mailed private mailing card and most
likely canceled in the circular mail department of the NYC main post
office. However, as noted in this article, it is still likely that this
killer saw use on foreign destination mail given its recorded
strike in red, such as this. |
